Network was created during the second International Guemgang Nature Art Biennale, organized by the YATOO Nature Art Association. The event was based on an interest and commitment to Nature and the environment. YATOO's work draws on Nature itself as the source of power for creative expression in substance and form.
The Network runs through the biennale like a prosthesis.
It is composed of a link made of different levels:
1) between the artists: some of the artwork of the
exhibition is connected to create a biennale unity.
The Network mutates by touching the different sculptures.
2) for the site visit: the Network can be a guide or signpost through nature for the exhibition.
3) as a link between organic and man-made objects: such as . The materials found (rubber, bamboo, iron reinforced steel bars (rebar), iron cables, garbage,
tree branches, leather and plastic), even discarded by other artists of the biennale, are included because
site specific work adapts itself to the whole environment.
4) as a link between nature and culture: natural and cultural elements shape the artwork. The links between elements are physical,
they touch, and organic, then they mutate.
Connected artists: Ben Taffinder, Ha Young-Joo, Moon Byoung Tak, Firman Djamil, Varol Topaç, Georg Dietzler, Roger Rigorth, Park In-Jin, Anne Even, Strijdom van der Merwe and Tatsunori Fujii.
First assistant: Silvia Suarez Lopez, second assistant: No Kyung Bae.
